G-Plan Mid Century Furniture

If you like us are a fan of mid century style then the name G Plan will be familiar to you. One of the great British brands who’s style and forward thinking design defines the era. It was 1953 when Donald Gomme took over his grandfathers business and the G Plan contemporary era was born. Throughout the 1950’s Donald’s G Plan was a breath of fresh air to post war Britain producing exciting and fresh designs like The Brandon range of light oak pieces to furnish your home with affordable luxury. In the late 1950’s the company was looking oversees for design inspiration and found it in Italy and Denmark. Italian design inspired the Tola and Black range to create your own Dolce Vita at home. However it was Denmark and designer Ib Kofod Larsen who designed the G Plan Danish furniture most of us recognise as G Plan mid century classics. Highly sought after these beautiful pieces of furniture are timeless. In 1966 the Fresco range was born.
